This rare vase measures
about 9" 1/2" tall and has
applied paste enamel scroll
work resembling a frame
with a center cartouche of
hand painted flowers.
The background satin matte
finish was achieved by acid
vapor application which
provides a wonderful soft
silver ground for the
additional painted detail.
The body is a tapered
cylindrical shape, and the
unusual design is more
consistent with high
Victorian style, rather
than Bohemian or European
taste.
Like a FORMAL valentine
CARD with curly lines and
heart shaped details, this
vase is probably one of a
kind!
