Very Rare English Silvered Glass
Vase, marked "H. Thomson, Patent
London" circa 1849-53.

English Silvered Glass was
patented in 1849 by Edward
Varnish and Hale Thomson.
Variations on the seal are found,
and this magnificent vase,
measuring about 12" tall, has cut
ovals on the neck and stem.
English silvered glass can be
found in color cased, cut to silver.
The vase has the seal, as shown,
and is in mint condition!

Made circa 1860-80, this
covered presentation
pokal has applied crystal
granulate application
etching consisting of birds
and foliage around the top
and a neo-classical shell
motif pattern in the
Beidermeir style around
the outside of the
gold-washed cup.
Condition is very fine and
the piece measures about
12" to the top of the knob
final.
